A double rod mat fence is robust, weather-proof and built for decades — but it leaves your garden exposed to every passing glance. Only Fence privacy strips close that gap. Weave them through the mesh, lock them in place with a single clip per strip, and your fence becomes a continuous, opaque privacy screen — without scaffolding, contractors or specialist tools.
We are a brand built around one focus: privacy strips that look the part on day one and still look the part ten years later. Every roll is precision-extruded in Poland from high-grade polypropylene — no plasticisers, no chlorine, no shortcuts.
Why Polypropylene, Not PVC
Most low-cost privacy strips are made from PVC. PVC tends to contain plasticisers, becomes brittle under direct sunlight and loses colour within one or two summers. The result is bleached, wavy strips that drag the appearance of your fence down rather than lifting it.
Our strips are made from recyclable polypropylene (PP) — chemically more stable than PVC, fully free of plasticisers and chlorine, and 100 % recyclable at end of life. With a UV Class 10 rating — the highest available — they shrug off direct sunlight year after year. No yellowing, no fading, no embrittlement. The strip you install today is the strip you will see a decade from now.
Installation in Two Steps
The most common question we hear: how do I attach privacy strips to a double rod mat fence? The answer is straightforward. Each strip is fed horizontally through the mesh from the top, weaving over and under each rod. Once the strip sits flush, you snap on the supplied AP 785 clip — a single component that locks the strip against the rod and stops it sliding in the wind.
No drilling, no screwing, no specialist tools. A complete 26 m run takes around 30 to 45 minutes — even working solo. Every Only Fence strip is 19 cm wide and pre-dimensioned to slot cleanly into standard double rod mesh widths.
Five Patterns, Up to 8 RAL Colours
We engineer five different surface patterns so you can match the strip to the role your fence plays — boundary, design feature, screen, or all three. RAYA (Classic Line, 1.65 mm) is the heavyweight all-rounder, available in eight RAL colours including Anthracite, Stone Grey, Light Ivory, Nut Brown, Window Grey, Moss Green, Black and White. PURA (Basic, 0.65 mm) is the entry-level option in six colours. LINA (Smart Mat, 1.1 mm) and TEXA (Orange Skin, 1.2 mm) sit in the mid-range with refined and textured finishes respectively. RATTA (TechnoRattan Groß, 2.0 mm) is our heavyweight rattan-look strip, engineered for projects that want depth and texture.
Anthracite (RAL 7016), Window Grey (RAL 7040) and Moss Green (RAL 6005) are available across the entire range — which makes it easy to mix patterns within a single garden while keeping the colour story consistent.
How Long Will They Last?
Lifespan depends almost entirely on the material. Cheap PVC strips often show degradation within one or two seasons. Our PP strips are engineered for the long term. Material thickness ranges from 0.65 to 2.0 mm, surface weights from 550 to 1,250 g/m², and every pattern carries the same UV Class 10 rating.
We back the engineering with a 10-year guarantee on every roll we ship — unusual in this category, and a commitment we stand behind in writing.
More Than a Privacy Screen
A fence with privacy strips delivers more than visual cover. Done properly, it earns its place in the garden by adding:
- Wind reduction. A continuous opaque screen breaks the wind significantly, protecting flower beds and shrubs sited close to the fence line.
- A design statement. Choosing pattern and colour turns the fence from a property boundary into a deliberate design element.
- Acoustic damping. The dense weave noticeably softens road noise — meaningful for properties on busier streets.
- Property value. A well-screened, well-detailed fence lifts the kerb appeal of the entire plot.
What Makes a Good Privacy Strip?
Three criteria separate strips that last from strips that do not. Material: PP outlasts PVC by years and is the only choice if recyclability matters. UV resistance: Class 10 is the highest stage — anything lower will fade. Material thickness: 1 mm is the practical minimum for shape stability — anything thinner ripples in wind.
Two details that often get overlooked: strip width should match the mesh — 19 cm is the standard for double rod mat fences, narrower strips leave visible gaps. And clips matter: high-quality strips ship with dedicated clips that lock them in place. Strips without clips need manual fixing and tend to loosen in the first storm.
Retrofit at Any Time
Privacy strips are one of the few privacy solutions you can add to an existing fence without rebuilding. Your double rod mat fence has been standing for years? No problem. The strips feed straight into the existing mesh — no removal, no modification, no contractor.
Compared to privacy mats that mount on the outside of the fence and tend to fray or sag within a season, woven strips sit inside the fence structure. They do not flap, they do not slide, and they hold their geometry through wind, rain and frost.
Sustainability by Design
Garden design and sustainability are not at odds. Our polypropylene strips are 100 % recyclable, manufactured without plasticisers, without chlorine, without heavy metals. At end of life, they enter standard PP recycling streams.
Production runs at an ISO 9001-certified facility in Libiąż, Poland — a manufacturer with more than 30 years of PP extrusion experience. Packaging is deliberately minimal: kraft boxes, no oversized cartons, no excess plastic. Privacy that does not compromise the garden it is protecting.
